The appellant was arrested on charges including attempted sexual assault, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, pointing a firearm, and robbery with aggravating circumstances, all stemming from an incident with his ex-wife, the complainant. In a Schedule 6 bail application, the accused must prove on a balance of probabilities that exceptional circumstances exist which in the interests of justice permit release.
