The accused, Simamele Timoti, was convicted of the premeditated murder of his intimate partner, who was 24 weeks pregnant with his child at the time of her death. The deceased was lured and isolated from her friends by the accused, who pretended that their relationship was stable. She was brutally assaulted, possibly raped, and murdered. The unborn child also died as a result. The deceased left behind two minor children aged 13 and 7. The accused was 33 years old at the time of the offence, a first offender, self‑employed as a builder, and had been in custody since June 2024.
